Time is eternal
Or so I am told
Grief is infernal
It makes us grow old
Death is always open
Love ties us down
Death is for us to put hope in
Not the other way round
Time is unending
Thought some say it's not
Time can be truth bending
Out of our heads we blot
This fear is a tidal wave
It sinks our tiny ship
As the casket in our grave
It holds us in a vice grip
Never believe all you hear
It's mostly all a lie
Time itself won't see your fear
Until the day you die
Time steam-rolls over you again
As you hibernate in your grave
And though you think time's your friend
Your really just it's slave.
