A couple of months ago (to the day), Peter (peterpaulino) posted a blog to wish me a Happy Birthday. I absolutely loved it: it was terrific!

So, I thought I could pay this forward. Then, I thought "why not get a few more people in on this?"

And now, Bea, here we are:

First, Tina (tinalouise)

Birthday Bea...
In honour of your birthday,
In honour of your style,
In honour of your wisdom,
With thanks for the smiles.

A toast to Grandma Bea,
And the chance for me to say,
How much I hope you have,
The greatest of birthdays,

Your bio does no justice,
Too few words does it contain,
To get down to the depths of you,
And truly explain...

...Your wit and consideration,
Occasional sharpened tongue,
Your softness and insight,
To visitors old and young.

Bea you are a one-off,
An original prototype,
A shame they can't clone you,
And rid the world of hype.

So a big Namaste,
To your soul from mine,
And a wish for happiness,
To one who is divine.

...................................

Happy Birthday Bea - one of my favourite, down to earth, poetic friends.
Namaste Tina XX

Second, Renae (Nae)

Happy Birthday dearest Bea,
we put your name out for all to see.
Lit would never be the same without you,
so I think a Happy Birthday wish is due.
Wishing you dreams of sapphire skies,
and treasures of life's most valued prize.

Then, me (windchime)

For a perennial inspiration,
For a rose with a heart of gold:
Grandma Bea let me wish you
(If I may be so bold)
just twenty-some more birthdays
before you're a hundred years old!

Okay, that's enough. We know I can't rhyme. So let me try again:

Dear
Grandma Bea,
Toast yourself today
With Bubbly, first thing
In the morning; then stand
Out there under that blessed Sun,
God's perfect spotlight on you: happiest day!

Like notes that escape from angel song,
Your wise words keep reaching me
Where my heart needs them.
Out of your wisdom
Rises an echo
Clear as
Love.

Have a great day! Lucie

And Claire writes this:

"I didn't want the day to pass without me including my wishes to Bea.
Bea is a wonderful woman. I don't give my total allegiance and respect to many people, but she has them.
I love her very much not only because she is a good writer, but because she is a good woman, an astounding human being, and a good friend.
Happy Birthday~Bea, I'm so happy I didn't miss it."

Happy Birthday
With the greatest of glee:
fond salutations to Bea.
Birthday greetings I send
to an internet friend.
She's a brick of a gal.
A true blue sort of pal.

Bea's a lover of rhyme.
which isn't a crime

A Capricorn goat
who will keep us afloat
by bailing the leaky boat
with her brand of rote.

I send my Birthday blessings
and pass on the age guessing.
For, no matter her years
Bea shifts through all gears
and can move me to tears.
She's the dearest of dears!

Happy Belated Birthday Wishes Bea....
I hope that you had the most fantastic of days. Each moment cherished from start to finish.
That is what birthdays are for, to celebrate.
Our smiles and our tears, each moment makes us who we are.
And we are truly blessed for having you as a friend of such unique talent, steadfast loyalty, and most kind and giving in our lives.
Thank you Bea for being you....and may this year you be blessed with angels, love and peace.

I'm truly overwhelmed!
I missed this yesterday on my birthday...thank you Nae for calling my attention to it today!

I was moved to tears by all your good wishes. I spent my birthday in bed yesterday dealing with a nasty cold, and could have used the lift it gave me! I so love my friends here at Lit and the forums...only poets like ourselves can connect so deeply and honestly with friends we've never met, while earnestly arguing and conveying love at the same time. I will never forget your kindness Lucie, Tina, Claire, CJ, Peter, Penelope.

P.S. Who IS that woman you were talking about so glowingly...never met her myself!

Love to you all

Bea

Bea's Birthday
Bea, I am so happy I didn't assume you had seen this! Well hope you are feeling better and now you have a whole year to celebrate, surely you don't celebrate just the one day!

Blessings,
Nae

Happy Birthday Bea!
Better late than never,
But I have been away.
I hope, despite your awful cold,
You had a lovely day.

To spend a birthday just in bed,
Sounds heavenly to me.
I think, of course, that I'd approve,
Of anything you do.

So with the first I've published,
Since single lines I see,
May I return the blessings,
That you always send to me.

For Grandma know your loved here.
Not just on you special day.
But everytime you comment
And with everything you say.

So now I'll join my colleagues,
Though late I'd like to say,
I wish you Happy Birthday
And true joy in every day.

Welcom back Ivor!
Ivor, thank you so much for your good wishes...I'm so happy you're back. I take it the operation was a success, and the myriad of words churning in your mind while going through all this will result in a multitude of poems on the experience! (Now you can concentrate on getting a new job with more confidence I trust.)
You've surely been missed here at Lit.

A Tardy wish for Bea
Although I missed this by a week
hoping angel kisses on your cheek,
angelic wings to help you soar
with beautiful music evermore.

Just as ageless rainbows too,
we are all blessed to know you.
Our world in this literary grace
because of you is a better place.

So here I see the ones who care
decorate this card with flair.
Not just for your birthday Bea,
I wish you well for eternity.

all my best,
Darlene

So sorry Darlene....
Darlene...please forgive me for not responding to your lovely birthday wishes, but I hadn't revisited this site until now. Thank you for thinking of me...I am blessed to have such wonderful friends here at Lit and the forums.
