I gather pebbles from the road I travel,
place them carefully, one by one,
into a green velvet satchel.
Each represents an event that has come to pass,
or one that has yet to be.

I pull the draw string tightly shut and close my eyes,
recounting each one in my mind,
making a mental note to hold each vision in
harmony with conscious thought.
Art of recreation has become my gift.

One pebble marks the moment I once again
became me.
I’ve named this pebble Life,
bright and orange,
it represents my love and strength.

As my journey unfolds, I pick up red,
name it Fire, touch it to my lips and
claim it as the light that lifts me up.
It’s a constant reminder of the spark
that opened my world,
gave me wings and set me free.

Through my minds own vision,
I call forth yellow and
name it Choice.
Daily I choose to be who I am,
unafraid of risks,
surrendering my life to no one.

And there amongst the group
I see sapphire blue,
smooth as silk, cool and ever soothing,
this one I call Dream.
I reached up into the clouds
captured and reeled it in,
claiming it’s essence as my own.

Then here my favorite,
my treasure, my flight.
I carefully call this one Future,
purple in its majesty,
perfect in it’s balance,
forever leading, guiding,
And preparing my journeys path.

With my satchel in hand,
I travel a road not wide,
taking with me
Life
Fire
Choice
Dreams
And future.
Prepared to walk alone, prepared to fly at last.

I am on a journey. Looking for Me. Everyday I get a little closer. The more time goes by the more I realize I'm always changing. This journey could take forever... Renae L. Soler

CJ's Journey
Cj, What an amazing thing for you to say! Of course I don't mind! This is what this piece is all about, finding our journey and sticking with it. I feel these words in my spirit, I am so happy you felt them too.

Love,
Nae

Wow
This is not your typical Nae poem and I like it. Dang girl I should have got you in on the last write off, you'd have stolen the win no problem.

Very nicely done, you had to reach down deep to get this one and I'm glad you did. It was well worth the read. At first I thought you were making reference to Virginia Wolfe but I'm glad this wasn't a tribute to her. Good stuff girl, keep them coming.

nae, you have so much
Ahead of you. You have so many talents that are wonderful. I can't judge them. They open worlds. I don't have enough time to make a comment on that. So, embrace worlds, and do your thing, and every once in a while, remember.

Nae's Colours....
You appear to be on right path, in both your writing and your self-realization "journey"..
Pleasurable read, as well...

Nae - Color
This is like a return to where we started as friends Renae, my first days at lit seeing your colorful candle poem that's full of passion which later on became my favorite, and now this one which will be like a mark of your journey - and my journey to poetry... an equal favorite of mine as your 'I am A Candle'. I thank you for the beauty of this, truly something to cherish.

My Colors
Jess, thank you, I am so happy you enjoyed this.

Claire, my friend, thank you, what a precious thought to be able to open worlds, if I can't open them I will at least reach for them.

Bobby, I believe I am on the right path, thank you so much for reading and sharing with me.

Peter, Thank you sweet friend. Our journey continues...

Nae's Journey...
I am all over the place with my commented and just can't get on top of it. This has been in my head and I was eager to get back to it. Each read is a delight unveiling another layer. You (rather in synch with Peter) appear to have leapt in your work and reached an amazing depth. This piece covered nearly all the colours of the chakras (points of energy on the body) and the meanings are near in line too. I will be reading this often to ensure I collect all it is offering. "five smooth stones"
The symbolism is something you have made personal to you, yet it remains universal enough for everyone to access.
After reading this, I felt it impossible to stand still: I had to get up and go to the window, and breathe, and look outside, into the purple future...
Thank you so much for this on!

Tina and Lucie
Tina, thank you so much for "your gift" to me. I will treasure it. Namaste, Nae

Lucie, WOW! Thank you! Don't just stand at the window, go out and soak it all in! It is ours, we are ready, we just need to get on with it.

Prepared
It sounds like you're ready. Its a wonderful thought to have a little satchel containing these aspects of yourself, that you can take out gaze at and ponder on independent of the others, or together as you see fit.

In one of your other poems you seemed to be longing for an ordered mind and in this sweet poem, it looks as though you found it. I liked this very much. -Philo
