it's sort of a song...so, don't comment saying it's too much like a song.
anywho, this is my first post in...like...what? a month or so? yeah...the bitch is back.

as always, language and content is forewarned.

"Far"

I've done no good
I've done no good today
I can't even save myself
I'm falling into medicated bliss
You can't even feel my hand
And I can't even have you to miss.

You never existed
Somehow, Somewhere
You died and I missed it
I'm sorry, I've always cared
You've got a way with mutilation
But I love you for who you are
We have no way with communication
That's why we didn't get far.

Tired of living
But tired of dying too
Don't want to go to heaven
Because i'm scared as hell of seeing you
I want to remember who you were
A needle in your fucking vein
Maybe you could finally feel love then
When you could finally feel no pain.

You never existed
Somehow, Somewhere
You died and I missed it
I'm sorry I've always cared
You've got a way with mutilation
But I love you for who you are
We have no way with communication
That's why we didn't get far.

Sexy?!
Ooh! I'm sexy now? WHOO-HOO! It's been a hwile since i've been called that.

Anyway, you may have been gone a while but you still haven't lost your touch. This is very good work. I really like the emotions conveyed. I haven't seen such good references to heroin since some early U2 songs. This poem has a lot going without losing you. Very nice work, and let me be the first to say: Welcome back! We've missed ya!

thanks for reviewing. it's odd that people go and read stuff on lit.org, and just don't say anything about it. i wish there were more commenters :oP i'm glad to be back, even though my poetry writing has been sliding in and out of drought. ah well, tomorrows another day :o)

Writing
Yeah, i've have a problem coming up with new songs recently as well. I am think about posting some of my older stuff just so the people don't forget about me. It's been about a month, maybe a month and a half since i posted a song. I hope i don't have writer's block terminally. ACK!

Anyway, i'm glad the drought is ending for you. I hope to see more of your work soon.

Wow.
Some of the imagery goes over my head, but this is top quality work. If every other reader is like me, they were almost in tears for both of the characters in this poem. Pity for the one that never felt love, and pain for the one who has allowed pain to rule them. Good rhyme and rythem; it'd be great set to the right music.
