I was in Woolworth's looking at half-price dvds. As the store fell silent, I realised it was 12 noon and bowed my head. I'd only found out by a casual glance at a newspaper the 3 minute silence for the dead of the tsunami disaster was today.

A time to reflect on the sheer scale of the tragedy, a time to wonder why such a thing should happen. But mostly a time to consider how generous people can be, this writer has, in the past, been quite disparaging about the human race in general. But with donations predicted to top 100 million pounds from the UK alone, it may be time to say, 'Okay, maybe I got it wrong.'

God bless you all for showing that when needs be, there's no end to the good will that can be produced.

In five hundred years time, most of us will be forgotten dust. But Hitler will still be remembered, God loves irony.

It's possibly the shortest comment I've ever made, in fact I'm almost certain that it is. No criticisms (constructive of course) could be thought of.
