Is Peace state before or after War?

Is Peace merely a measured period of time between conflicts?

Can an enemy be defeated without knowing him?

When we invade land of a perceived enemy,
do we appreciate concept of revenge?

Are we prepared to kill sons of our enemies?

And their sons?

And their sons?

And their sons?

Are we prepared to end War?

Are we prepared for Peace?

windchime:10 questions...
Not sure if I should have posted my 10 questions as a poem. As far as quetions 5 through 8, I'm afraid the answer would have to be yes. If anything, we're overprepared to kill.I know they don't hand out Nobel "Truce" prizes...Could probably crank those out like parking tickets. Refer to "Peace Shoppers" and even "Guru" for more on this subject. Thanks for showing continued interest.

tinalouise: of "Peace"
Tina: Much appreciated.

We live in age of "Kali," quarrel and hypocrisy. As long as "man" believes his own dogma driven perceptions to be "righteous," there will always be conflict.

Imagining "all the people.."

Lucie..of being prepared
haven't seen this one is years..

The military most certainly prepares for and is prepared for war. The perpetuation of dogma keeps the train rolling..

We prepare for hurricanes and snowstorms.

Preparation for peace involves a changing of our hearts.

preaching to the choir
Your points are indeed valid and noted. I employed the word "prepare" by and with provocative intent. What we think we are doing and what we are actually doing are often not the same. We are indeed "ready" for war..and ready to go to war.

My first published poem (1968, in my high school paper), was an anti war poem. Forty-three years later, I'm still writing them.

Note: In 1986, I penned a lyric, "Prepare For Peace", for a progreesive punk band from Philadelphia. That may have influenced the employment of the word in this piece.

"gonna lock up the world police/..put the Colonels down in jail/let our world out on bail" - from "Prepare for Peace"

more preparing
(U.S./Russian/Chinese) governments prepare for nuclear winter. Undergound cities have been under construction in China for decades. There are underground facilities for several thousand people (from military/government/sciene) in the United States. Seeds, food provisions and water are stored, at ready.

We plan for armageddon. It would appear we do not plan/prepare for least not peace on Earth.
