once in a life
soon to end
i lost a memento
a very close friend
something i held dear
close to my heart
a love that was there
from the start
but that time ended
it started too late
now he's in heaven
at the lords front gate
i cried for days
i realized he left
he learned a lot
in many ways
all though that time is over
i will never forget
the living, loving angel
that i once had met

dearest lord...thank you for my friends who care, the ones who help me when i have the smallest look of sorrow on my face. <3.

Heart wrenching
Losses are terrible to face at any age. Somehow we tend to think the older we get the easier it will be, however this is not true.
This is a nice poem, short, unforced. Clearer and easier to read then ones with chat talk.
I would like to read more like this one Trish. Well done....
