One syllable askew of classic haiku, the meat is now worthy of the bread,(the poem now justifies the title).

Break this body and eat,
Exorcists and Stigmatics.
Drain my blood to drink.

Beware the lollipop of mediocrity-
Lick it once and you suck forever.

Hiya Demeter. I too was raised as a Catholic but
got saved way back in the heady '70's and although
I've fallen from grace,(Oh how low I have fallen)I
still believe and pray quite often. This particular haiku was inspired by the movies "The
Passion of the Christ" and "Stigmata",the latter
not as blockbusting as "The Passion" but still a very powerful film,Patricia Arquette being a for-midable presence in her own right. The subliminal
effect of such immediate and deeply felt emotional
responses from these two flicks haunt me still and
the classic struggle between good and evil,never-
mind the nightmarish visions I was terrorized with
from The Book Of Revelations in order to get
"saved" which was fodder enough to inspire me to compose this piece,so "barbaric","pagan","night-
marish",and "terrorized" all make for sinfully gleeful bedfellows. Oh yeah,I couldn't tell from your former LILIA avatar that you were an abnormal
smartass as a kid,nawww. Thank God you've matured into a devious, twisted writer. Was it good for you too? Thanx for stopping by and commenting, that
was fun.
