So many things in life we share, treasured blessings we often take for granted. When all the world goes rushing by, stop for a moment...and realize.

Before our eyes wishes come true
Blue sky, pansies, silken hair
Pause a moment, sense what is
Gifts we bare unconsciously

Naked truth, a kindly smile
Baby's breath, a leafless tree
Things of beauty, timeless age
Childrens' laughter, warm embrace

Love in splendour, glowing heart
Seaside gazing, moonlight walks
Whispers tender, yearning kiss
Sweetheart roses, memories

Grandpa's pipe, his stories too
Budding flowers, ebbing tides
Cleansing showers, bright rainbow
Morning Glories, frilly lace

Blossomed love, a promise ring
Selfless giving, divine grace
Laid down arms with peace at hand
Survival, friendship, understand

Baby born unto this world
Playful banter, babbling brook
Forget not the things we have
Cherished, treasures, gifts of life

Serenity
The gift of this write was the serenity it evoked in the conjuring up of good memories. Gratitude starts with pausing and appreciating. This poem gave cause to do both.
