hurtful words wash over me
purging my soul of all life
a sigh dies upon my lips
as i breathe my last again
i am new and i am dead
contemplating suicide

i look down over the edge
and see myself staring back
i wash my face with water
full of dark and painful prose
i batter myself to sleep
with tales of the underworld

a new light shines in my dreams
a birth so magnificent
hope returns to my darkness
coming without any name
yet i know what to call it
and i awake at death's door

The Grasp of Hades
Well, dear, if you'd only left those pomegranite seeds alone instead of taking them from Pluto's outstretched hand...

You have some remarkable lines, here:

"I am new and I am dead
contemplating suicide"

seems to have a unique ring of truth to it.

"I wash my face with water
full of dark and painful prose"

reminds me of Dorothy Parker.

Troublesome yet stirring stuff.
