Cat beholds
a red cylindrical object
that pees on a white mat;
black as it dries on the surface.

Cat puts paws on his face,
shimmies as if giggly
over his discovery;
looks up at the eyes of the boy

only to be distressed
by the knitting of his brows.

Now back to the thing
and the black dried puddle of pee:
what seems to be a dot or scratch
just stares back at what?
the amber gaze of the boy’s eyes
which the cat doesn’t want
to encounter for any second time.

The black, an island at the far corner;
why didn’t he place it in the middle
perhaps he’s hoarding some space
for a few more flecks and shapes?

Ho-hum,
what is taking him so long?
His hands,
frozen between his face and the white.

Come on… let your thing pee or poo
otherwise park it beside me for a while
so when nobody’s looking
I’ll be the one to try!

Author's Note:
Inspired by Tinalouise's pooing pen haiku.

Milk carton plastic thing
My cat loves to chase the plastic thing that comes off the lid of a milk carton. when it comes to her going pee or poo I prefer to be in th other side of the house! The most awful smell on earth. It a cats poo.
I finialy read your bio today. It reminded me of a quote by Woody Allen. "I don not wish to acheive immortality through my work. I wish to acheive immortality by not dying"
