Act 1 Scene 1
Penelope – I’m sorry you guys, I was busy because my boss held me up.
Alejo – That’s alright…
Sherman – Yeah, no harm done….
Penelope – Cool, oh damn I forgot to bring my cigarettes. Do you guys have one?
Alejo – You know I don’t smoke.
Sherman – Crap, I’ve only got lighter.
Penelope – Alejo, if it’s ok with you can you buy cigarettes for me? I’ll pay you back later.
Alejo – Sure, I’ll be back.
Act 1 Scene 2
Sherman – (To Penelope) You know what? You, sure are lucky to have him as a boyfriend.
Penelope – And you, sure are lucky to have him as your best friend.
Sherman – Yeah, I can count on him when I desperately need some money.
Penelope – Yeah, I think I’m lucky anyways I didn’t know you smoke.
Sherman – You’re kiddin’ I’ve been doin that since I was a little kid. That got me in all kinds of trouble.
Penelope – What kind of trouble?
Sherman – Never mind that, anyways my mum hardly cared if I hung around with latino’s.
Penelope – Cool.
Sherman – You know when I first met you, I didn’t really like you. Now that we have talked a little, You are cool person.
Penelope – Oh, you are a cool guy, too. How come didn’t I see you before?
Sherman – Maybe because we’re illegal immigrants from Mexico.
Penelope – Really?
Sherman – Nah-
(His mobile phone rings)
Sherman – Excuse me… Hello, oh what happened to you? We’ve been wondering where you are. What? Oh well, man.. Nah, that’s alright. We’ll see you later..
(Clicking the mobile phone off)
Sherman – (To Penelope) Alejo can’t come, he got some business to do. So you wanna go to my house? It’s getting cold.
Penelope – Ok.
Act 1 Scene 3
Penelope – Wow, your house looks very well decorated.
Sherman – Yeah, it took a bit… I knew you would come today so… well I thought I should impress you. Thanks for the compliment.
Penelope – NO, honestly, it’s a clean and beautiful house. I’m really impressed…
Sherman – Well thanks, Sherman would say it’s a messy dummm-
(Penelope comes and kisses him unexpectedly.)
Sherman – Hey there, wait, wait! You’ve already got a boyfriend who’s also my best friend. He’ll be shocked if he saw that.
Penelope – No, He’s nice guy and all but he’s not my boyfriend. It’s just a rumour.
Sherman – Well, if you say so, but still I don’t intend to lose my best friend over something like this.
Penelope – I’m sure he wouldn’t mind at all. As a matter of fact, I think he doesn’t like me.
Sherman – That’s nonsense!
Penelope – (Slyly) At least you like me.
Sherman – Yeahhh…… That’s true.
Penelope – Come on, we’ll keep this quiet in case Alejo finds out like you said.
Sherman – I guess you’re right. Alejo would think you’re just one of his friends.
Penelope – So, will you kiss me..
Sherman – Sure baby.
Act 2 Scene 1
Alejo – So, we meet again in same old place, huh?
Sherman + Penelope – Yeah…
Alejo – Hey, it’s strange to ask how come are you guys not smoking today?
Sherman – I’m all out of money.
Penelope – For a change I decided not to smoke today.
Alejo – But you guys are addicts. Oh well, what do I care? It is a good news. I call for a celebration. You guys wanna come to my house?
Sherman – Sorry Alejo, I gotta go soon to collect some money from the centrelink.
Alejo – How about you, Penny?
Penelope – Ok, why not?
Sherman – So I’ll catch you both later.
Penelope + Alejo – Ok see ya.
(Penelope and Alejo walks without any conversation.)
Act 2 Scene 2
Penelope – Oh, Isn’t this Sher- I mean, nice, wonderful house you got there.
Alejo – Thank you. So, you want a drink?
Penelope – Just a coffee, thanks…
Alejo – (In the kitchen) So where did you guys go when I had some business to finish?
Penelope – Well, we went to the library that is the only quiet place I know and talked about you.
Alejo – Hmm... Anything else? Here’s your coffee.
Penelope – No, no. So tell me what business you had to do?
Alejo – Oh, nothing personal. I forgot, I bought you a present.
(Alejo gives a small box to Penelope.)
Penelope – Oh no, it’s a ring for me? It is beautiful and I’m truly flattered that you bought such an expensive ring for me. But I can’t accept it.
Alejo – Sure you can. It is just a small birthday present I could afford.
Penelope – Wow, I’m truly shocked right now. Can I go home and come back later?
Alejo – Don’t forget your present….. I’ll wait for you….

Act 2 Scene 3
Penelope – (Seeing Sherman in her house) Oh, I didn’t expect you there. I thought you were a thief.
Sherman – Well then would a thief give you this?
(Sherman offers the necklace.)
Penelope – Wow, it’s beautiful...
Sherman – Yeah, it’s my mother’s but she never wears it.
Penelope – But what’s this for?
Sherman – Of course, your birthday present, you dummy!
Penelope – How did you know it was my birthday today?
Sherman – Uh, what is friend for?
Penelope – You’re more than my best friend!
(Penelope kisses Sherman.)
Act 2 Scene 4
Alejo – (To himself.) Wonder what’s taking her so long? I’d better go to her house and if she’s even there…
(Alejo runs to her house and sees Sherman and Penelope smooching. Alejo is so shocked, he cannot say a word. Sherman and Penelope are so busy smooching they don’t even notice Alejo leaving.)
Act 3 Scene 1
Penelope – (Checking her watch) Oh my god, I didn’t even notice the time was going so quick. Oh no, Alejo must have been worried or something. I’d better go now.
Sherman – You want me to come with you?
Penelope – No, I need someone to watch my house. Can you do that?
Sherman – Well sure, if you are desperate.
Penelope – Ok, I’ll see you later.
(Penelope runs out of her house frantically. And Sherman closes the door. Soon someone knocks on the door.)
Sherman – She must’ve forgot her purse. (Opens the door and sees Alejo.) Oh, Alejo, you scared the hell outta me, man. C’mon in. I didn’t expect you here…
Alejo – Yeah. I didn’t expect you here in Penny’s house either. And I’m surprised that you know Penny’s address.
Sherman – Oh, Penelope told me. By the way, what’s the occasion?
Alejo – Don’t play dumb with me. I know what you and Penny were up to.
Sherman – Don’t know what you are talkin about.
Alejo – Look you may think I’m an idiot but do you think I’ll wait all day in my house waiting for Penny to come?
Sherman – Look, Alejo. Relax man, it’s not what you think…
Alejo – Ok, I’ll relax after killing Penny.. (Coldly) Till then I suggest you stay the hell out of my way if you want no trouble.
Sherman – You’re not gonna kill her.
(Alejo walks off.)
Act 3 Scene 2
Sherman – (Dials Penelope’s number) Penny, emergency.. Come back, we need to talk. Trust me. Alejo just came here..
(Penelope comes little later.)
Penelope – I made it as quick as I can. Sherman, (Seeing Sherman is not smiling.) Hey, are you not happy to see me?
Sherman – The situation is very bad… Alejo found out about our little secret affair and he is gone very mad. I haven’t seen him like this before.
Penelope – But he is a cool guy all right??
Sherman – Yeah, but…
Penelope – There’s a possibility that we can still apologise to him… I mean we haven’t got a much choice, have we?
Sherman – No, but what if?
Penelope – WE hope for the best...
Act 3 Scene 3
(In Penelope’s house, the phone rings)
Penelope – Hello.
Alejo – Hey, it’s Alejo. Can you meet me in the alley where we usually hang out by noon?
Penelope – Sure, why?
(The phone disconnects and Sherman comes behind her.)
Sherman – It’s Alejo, isn’t it?
Penelope – Yeah….
Sherman – Alrighty, let’s go.
Act 4 Scene 1
(Alejo walks around in the dark alley.)
Sherman – Hey, Alejo!
Alejo – Now what are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay out of my way.
Sherman – Sorry if I didn’t. But for the last time I want to apologise to you.
Alejo – How dumb are you? That is the last thing I need right now.
Sherman – Please, we can talk long and I don’t know how sorry I am to cause you the pain.
Alejo – Hey, try to understand. The pain I’m having right now is nothing like you’ve had before. Beside it’s too late for you to talk long. Either Penny dies or you. It doesn’t matter.
(Aiming the gun at Sherman.)
Alejo – Good Bye, Sherman.
