If I read you my heart will you run away.
Will my words frighten you or will you stay.
If I bury my cheek deep into your chest
Will you wrap me like a child in a blanket may I rest.
If I bring you a boat the color of red
will we sail on a prairie of emerald green
where you make my dreams a heavenly scene.
If I hunger for you like a begger on a street
will you feed or deny me until I am weak.
If I wait forever to hear your voice sweet
Will you resuscitate me, whisper take my lead.
If your name I confess with my last dying breath
Will your head turn from me while I sink to my death.
If I leave from this earth and my maker I meet
Will you fall from your throne and cry at my feet?
