Yesterday you were here, but today
You're far away.
I can still hear the music of
Your voice.
But the melody is a faint
Whisper in my ear.
I can feel the warmth of you
Against my skin.
But your body has left our bed
So long ago.
My heart still aches behind
My breasts,
Where you used to
Lay your head
And count each and
Every beat,
Until you'd sleep and
Dream of me.
No matter how many years
Pass me by,
You will only be
A yesterday away.
