Judith Gayle Smith

"A genuine Chocolate Point Siamese!" - the sign on her cage read. This lovely fuzzy ball of pure fluff totally turned my head.

"Just 200 dollars!" continued the words posted up above. I, mesmerized by her intensely blue eyes fell helplessly in love.

I would sweetly cajole, coaxing her - "Oh, please come to me, do" - ignoring me, washing her leg, she'd turn aside those eyes so blue.

Just then I heard such hollering from her "next door neighbor's" cage! It was a scrawny black kit, yowling at me - acting quite deranged!

Glaring, he thrust out his paw to claw my pants leg in his fury! I disentangled myself, scolding him, and left him in a hurry!

This poor, tragic, mangy black kit - seemed nobody wanted HIM. A sorry scoundrel - not at all pretty, but great at hissy-fittin!

I would stop in each day to visit "Miss Priss", while she in her corner lay...but little black rascal would yowl and shred my pants leg day after day.

Okay, I admit my head, is at times, pretty hard to get through! Little I knew, YOU don't choose a cat - a smart cat will choose you!

This little black kitten who yowled at me, clawing at me so, had chose me as his very own - what took me so long to know?

The price they placed on his scruffy head was "please, just take him home!" He was not even pretty! But I gave in because he begged me so.

He purred into my arms and kneaded my blouse, happy as could be...I suddenly saw he was beautiful! This rascal sweetly charmed me!

Disdaining a box to carry him home, he wound around my neck - purring and kneading and loving me so, I nearly had a wreck!

His fur grew long - gorgeous now, who knew what he would become? Part Siamese and Persian blend - why he was quite handsome!

He loved to play and sang with me - he never lost that yowl, a very special friend to me, and together we would howl!

He stayed with me for almost a year, then I lost him one sunny day. It was in the Spring, while hormones raged - and he was young and gay.

I found him by chance two blocks away, so proud to be a father! He and his kits - his very own pride! With their sweet Siamese mother!

Grace - GOD'S Power!

"Of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues."
