Another sunday morning crawling by
Another beautiful girl come and gone
Another night of being speechless and voiceless
Another night of going to bed alone
I pour myself a cup of tea
Try to get back my voice and some piece of mind
Another homemade shirt to show off to the crowd
As Robbie tells me pain gives me the right to be unkind

This is the worst time of the year
Attempts to talk are a hoarse whisper at best
I should be sitting home in bed
But I'm too damn lonely to worry about rest
I never handled silence very well
The more I talk, the less I have to think
Now I see you and I'm speechless and voiceless
So I just sit and pour myself another drink

Another night lying awake thinking about you
So Andy Dufresne, won't you help me through

Can you teach me to be happy?
Can you show me how to smile
I've been in the dark, can you show me the light
Just for a little while

And i just want to start again
Find a girl to help me leave it all behind
Build the life that i have always dreamed
And save me from one more day of being colour-blind
Wanna find a girl and start a new life
Two more beers and then I'll make my move
Get behind the mic and play you my guitar
And I've only got to prove that I've got nothing to prove

Another night lying awake thinking about you
So Nick Hornsby and John Cusack, won't you help me through?

Can you teach me to be happy?
Can you show me how to smile
I've been in the dark, can you show me the light
Just for a little while
And maybe someday you'll walk into my life
And finally help me make these demons go away
Today is gone, maybe there's hope in tomorrow
Until then...I'll take everclear and honey

Watch the sunrise through the window
It's not the same as from the roof
And I stand behind this counter, sell you cigarettes
And I fall in love with you
I take a walk in the rain
Waiting for the raindrops to hide my tears
But then i smile as I realize
That I feel alive for the first time in years

Another night lying awake thinking about you
David Duchovny, won't you help me through

Can you teach me to be happy?
Can you show me how to smile
I've been in the dark, can you show me the light
Just for a little while
And maybe someday you'll walk into my life
And finally help me make these demons go away
Today is gone, maybe there's hope in tomorrow
Until then...I'll take everclear and honey

Another night lying awake thinking about you
When all i want is you lying here helping me through

Can you teach me to be happy?
Can you show me how to smile
I've been in the dark, can you show me the light
Just for a little while
And maybe someday you'll walk into my life
And finally help me make these demons go away
Today is gone, maybe there's hope in tomorrow
Until then...I'll take everclear and honey
