The sun has kissed the earth goodnight.
Nightmares lie in wait,
Wrapped in blue-velvet twilight.
The moon hung out as bait.

Hear the voices in the distance,
As they come out in their packs.
Stealing your soul in an instant.
You best cover up your tracks.

It's the scent of blood they're after,
Doesn't matter if it's yours or mine.
Hear their footsteps running faster.
Tonight, under the stars, they'll dine.

Reba!
I like the darkness of this. The predators you created here seemed to be in a haste to catch their first victim(s), not even waiting for the deeper darkness to fall onto the land.

Very nice, Reba.

thanks to all of you for taking the time to read and comment...I've been having a bit of writers block for the last several months ( ever since my dad's surgery, which he just had his first exam and everything looks great!) It's good to see that the well hasn't totally run dry...chapter1, a flashlight works well too :)

Reba, The Pack
Reba,
Just revisiting some of your work, wish I could paint pictures like this. You are a true artist.
