I used to believe that if I could
Just love you enough,
it would make up for your
indifference.
That someday you would see how
much we meant to each other
- if only I
could hang on, and
keep loving you.
Whether you wanted it or not.
No amount of pain or heartbreak
would deter me,
you were but a silly boy and
I knew better.
Through all the tears and lies and
lonely nights,
I loved you.

Oh, I liked this!
You have described so well what so many women feel when they are in a less-than-satisfactory relationship. It is poignant, sweet, frustrating, fill with longing and very, very sad. I think you've done a masterful job with this one.
