Several days and weeks have passed this year
quicker than most years pass-
-but I am waiting still, here;
In this colder than freezing chamber-
I look within and look around, trying
not to turn around;
Lazily, crazily-shattering and sometimes
a noise outside wakens me!
Yes, all was lost from me, and now all
that is left is my head to be found.

Whuh???
I don't get this. You reference sight "look around" and sound "noise outside" yet you have no head.

You lost me there. I have had my head removed on several occasions and I can assure you that during the procedure I could neither see nor hear.
