So plaster that smile
And straighten your hair
Iron all your clothes
And leave your face bare
Because all of the smiling in the world
Wont make you feel better
And all the crying in the world
Wont make it any better
And when the end comes
What have you done?
Just made your tears fall
And stain your gown
And smear your face
And now there's nothing left in this place
For you to hold
Or call your own
Because you're not you
Just a girl
With tear-incuding streaks
That line down your cheeks
And I can't help but laugh
Because someone loved those eyes
The covers, the tries
The truth, and the lies
And the ceiling will never fall
And you wont feel a thing
Once you re-make your face
There's no such thing as pain
And it's such a shame

Pushing a lover to love another. Are you turned on?

I really like the idea you present in this poem. Put on a pretty face for the world. Don't we all at some point or another? Also, i like the idea that crying doesn't solve anything except make more of a mess. I really enjoyed reading this poem. :D

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm glad I remembered about after, basically, a complete year away.
