It used to bother me when petty fools
would call my love a bitch,
then I'd watch her take them to school
and I'd no longer need to scratch that itch

to remind self-important hacks
with not a drop of talent to spare
that I'd not missed their juvenile cracks
and my lover's thoughts I share.

So don't think that I'm silent
because i might agree
it's only that my temper's violent
when you insult what belongs to me.

So I'll keep my counsel internal
and keep my comments civil
cause my insticts are a bit infernal
and your complaints are not but drivel

She needs no valiant prince to save
no armored gallant knight
to deal with such surly knaves
because in the end she know's she's right.

------
Smile if you're stupid,
laugh if you understand.

Bartleby's Jessica
Yes, that is the Jess I have come to know and admire. A strong astute woman who if ever needs; is pliable to admit her wrongs.
By the way Bart, this is a very nice poem to read, very warming to know the love you share with Jess.

Hmmm
Lovely sentiments, except for the implication of "wife as property"! Ouch!

Chivalry is not dead...
It's alive and well in Alabama! Who is that man in all his armored splendor on that great white steed riding in to defend his fair lady to the death...why it's Sir Bartelby of course!

Thank you Bart for restoring my faith in the male sex...and for reminding me that there are still a few heroes left...Well said!

Way to go...
...Bart. Feel the love. Herm. I didn't know that you and Jess were partners. *sigh* I live in a world of ignorance and apathy ;) Good to see your work again.

Nice
Stand by your woman! I love it. Reminds me of that old poster with the housewife in a wrap showing off her bicep.

By the way, I sent that post you requested
