You fell in love with another

I must have been asleep
I didnít see the signs
For youíre heart I wanted to keep
You fell in love with each other
It is plain to see
The way you share
The way you care
Who am I to keep you apart
I am the one with the broken heart
To not be together
To suffer forever
I am an obligation
Who am I to let you go
Just a heart full of woe
Who am I
Just a wife
No big deal
Just one life
Who am I to keep you apart
Just one person
Just one heart
I fear it wonít be long
Together youíll be gone
You broke my heart
Iím falling apart

who am I
That's heart breaking. It's such a sad story. All I can really think is that it's not fair. It really is disapointing when things like that don't work out.

Claire-
Thank-you for your imput. I was feeling Very insecure when I wrote this. I debated if it was worthy of submitting or not. Writing has been helping me cope with a lot of issues. Thank-you, char c

Who I am
You are obviously someone with a huge heart and a beautiful spirit. Hang on. This poem brought me to tears... Keep writing, and we'll keep reading, it does the heart good.

Nae-Who am I
thank-you for commenting. I am glad this moved you. I will submit more in the future... I have a lot of disorganized thoughts written down just waiting for me to have a spare moment to work through them.
