Movements of a light sleeper
The cutting room floor
The dawn for me holds nothing
That's what nothing is for
Oh,would could thine oculus (winkyblink)
Penetrate mine nogginus (thinkydink)SLAG
But should that the other drowned allusion TAG
Stick a tactic to a pup-a-whimsy (plinkity-plink)
So you see it zagged such postulate
As was wont to degradate the boys perogative
To snort and chortle, gazing out as
Stars collapse,
planets collide and
galaxies explode from the reflection in his eyes
Once young and bright now ponders
"Next time I won't get mugged OR beaten"

Patina on an old penny
Astronomy in a black eye
Moments of tiny enlightenment come so seldom
At prices so high
So make sure no-ones watching
Before you switch the tags
And now the aesthetics of shaving ones face
Takes precedence, freezes me dead in my place
At the moment my eyeballs the mirror embraced
The hypnotic exclusion of all else
Save for the carnal immediacy
Of a stunned recognition
Now please hang up
And try your hand at hindsight
And ply your mind with questions
The Barbasols evaporated,yet still
You drag the steel across the riddle in your face
And drop a poptop down your gullet
Knowing damn well that in another seven years
That handsomely disturbing visage
In the mirror
May be accompanied by the eerie whine
Of a high arching bamboo cane
From which the resultant crack across your head
Does not end in Satori.

------
Beware the lollipop of mediocrity-
Lick it once and you suck forever.

You captured me Luis,
I am your slave,,,you keep weaving my thoughts and dreams and entwining them to this poetry called yours.....even just inklings. That is a remarkable thing to do.....wish I could write like this....never free my interest...
Its great Luis.
