It seems lately that several heated debates have come up and I feel it's time to refresh everyone's memory on how we do things around here.

The comment system is for talking about the writng that is posted on the site. We will delete all comments that get personal, those that attack the writer and not the piece. Comments should be used to critique the writing.

Comment validation will remain on until the commenting returns to normal again. We don't like having to turn on comment validating, but we are going to leave it on to keep the peace.

For your reference, this is not the first time this problem has come up:

Please remember that comments are for helping each other improve your writing. If you want to chat on non-writing issues there are several forums out there for any number of topics you might want to discuss. Our goal is to discuss writing and through that discussion improve our writing skills. Please remember this when submitting your work and commenting on others.

Thanks,

-Chris
