Ghost and gobblings in the street
the sound of children trick or treat.
Smelling the fire wood burning
from the chimneys near
yes indeed autumn is here.

Brisk night air to carry the sound
of nothingness when you're not around.
As I watch the changing leaves fall
I only hope that you can recall ,
how much your being means to me
and know I love you until we meet.

When you see the jack-o-lantern
light up the night don't think of it as
a frightful sight just laugh and say
my friend is here and there you'll
find my heart is near.

No matter where we seem to rest
in our minds we know the best
is family friends and loved ones
close if we treasure them the most
and for me I have to say, you have
always made my day.

And with this letter now in those hands
that will go on to other plans
don't ever let life change the treat that
you have always been for me.

And when you're bobbing for the apples
of life try to remember what's the
best part of life .

And I hope some way by you knowing me
that I have helped you some how to see
that in our lives there will always be the
spring and summer, winter and fall.

But through God's strength we can walk
through them all, if we just try to stick
together no matter what the type of weather.

great coco
Great coco. Particularly the beginning. It went a little off rythmn around the three quarter mark but it was bubbling along always. I think there are some spelling mistakes there too. Gobblings maybe should be goblins, but it sounded good anyway. Love the title too. Cheers smithy

I love the Fall, I love halloween! I liked the poem though I would have to agree with smithy that it got off the rythmn track a couple of times. I liked the romance intertwind in the scenery. You know we are supposed to believe that fall is a sort of lull in the roar of the summer and spring season. But I think that mothere nature is merely backing off to let us have center stage. What is more romantic then being together in some little cottage in the mountains, sitting next to the fire and looking out across a sea of red and yellow oak trees. Breath taking to say the least!
