Words

Words or linoleum flitter in a
Meaningless splendor,
Lashing, laughing and loving
In hope that with all
The phrases so carelessly
Thrown about, one might
Hold a glimmer of truth.
We whisper of virtues
With our tones of awe.
Virtues?
Just another word
Twisted and bent
To fit the meaning you want.
We talk of faith
With our eyes widened.
Faith?
All one needs for that
Is the right testaments
To woo an audience.
We yell of choices
So that everyone might hear.
