I never meant for this to happen. I never wanted any of this to happen. It shouldn’t have been this way.
It’s weird the way people treat other people. With other people who are of normal health, people act cordial. With people who are sick, with cancer or broken bones, people act as if obliged to be said person’s servant. But when the person is really sick, as in emotionally disturbed or out of touch, people treat her as if she just spat on baby Jesus…like she might infect us all with evil. There is no sympathy. People think the crazies bring it upon themselves; the stigmatization of the mentally ill today are a reflection of yesterday’s Salem witch trials. But my mother was no “witch”.

I can only agree.
Margie, in this image fascist world, it's no wonder people who are 'different' are social pariahs. Mental illness is no laughing matter, I can't help but admire the sheer courage of men and women who survive by painting or writing. The kind of poetry I've heard from a patient, who I'm proud to call 'friend', is absolutely heart-rending. People discriminate out of fear and ignorance, it's an old saying, but true nonetheless.
Take care
