We all have heroes in our life
and most we don't even know
they give of themselves in many ways
and some of this don't ever show

we don't read of it in the morning paper
or see it on tv
but its the things they do for all of us
that makes them a hero to me

they may wear a badge, or a fire fight
they may wear some camo too
they in the shadows, or behind a desk
but they protect both me and you

they stand for our rights and listen to us
yet we never see their face
these are the greatest people in our lives
and they come from every place

Great Subject to write of
This brought to mind of the soldiers overseas. As well as the soldiers of good-will that are left at home to carry on, pick up pieces and keep on keepin' on. Wonderful subject.
I think you may need to polish it up a bit with a few words missing I think in 3s-L3 "they in a shadow".
Overall I liked this poem. I have to read more of your things, something in this I felt...thanks.
