The black of night begins to fade
And the sun streaks across the sky
A lone bird coasts on the cool morning breeze
Onward she shall fly
Straight past the horizon
Out of the corner of her eye
A hunter waits so patiently
To hear her flitter by
The lone bird picks up her pace
Letting out a muffled cry
With the sounds of footsteps ever nearer
Onward she must fly
Way up past the banyan trees
Into the morning sky
Straight into the sunlight
Where she escapes the hunter's eye
As the hunter moves out of her view
She heaves an unexpected sigh
Once again she is alone
And onward she must fly
The wind's picked up and the trees sway
But still the bird must try
Raindrops have begun to fall
Washing a tear out from her eye
The storm begins to settle
And she makes her way on by
Gathering up whats left of her strength For onward she will fly
Until she reaches her home
Beneath the moonlit sky
Where a family awaits for her return
While time ticks slowly by

Thanks for taking the time to read my poems. Much love kiddos and I hope my poems meant something to you! Never give up on your dreams :)

Hunting for Family

Excellent piece of poetry, well written and with very deep meaning.

'Where a family awaits for her return
While time ticks slowly by'

Yes, time ticks slowly by, and eventually can run out. Some people are still strugling to return of find a family, while they still have to contend with all the things you so expertly express in your poetry.

Thank you,

Thankyou all!
Haha, ummm let's see... wow I didn't think it would be liked that much. Thanks for the great comments. It was one of my first and few rhyming poems so I was really nervous. But I'm glad you all liked it. I'll try to write more. Thanks again for reading and the best to all of you!
