Minnesota Moon

Drifting banks of white
cold softly into glitter.
Held on moonlit night
frozen windchill bitter.

Darkness lights upon
the blueness of the moon.
Linger until dawn
freezing into afternoon.

Wolf howl crisp at night.
Snowshoe hare abounds
hunted with a might
as darkness moves her sounds.

Mink runs abreast of
tattered chase to burst.
Wisp of cloud above
the moonlight has coerced.

Northland borealis
lighting land of loon.
Crystalline ice palace
under Minnesota moon.
