What's a Wanchunganflungan? One of those that have made you angry, really upset for no good reason. It might be a former partner, that big kid who was or is tormenting you at school or might be even politicians who have ordered to place an orphanage under siege (and yes, this has indeed happened this very year).

How does it feel? "Gimme a flamethrower?" Yes, it can feel like that. However, do you know something? We have a boss called Jesus who has commanded us to love, bless and pray for them. It can be hard, it is for me, but I am writing a prayer myself. Go ahead and write yours! You can do it, the Holy Spirit will be with you, promised.

Abba, we must thank you for your many gifts, we must also confess that we are often bad stewards and unfaitful servants and do not use them to glorify your name nor in the benefit of your Kingdom. Instead, fairly too often, we use them for our own sinful desires. It is so that by the merits of your Son, Jesus Christ, our great intercessor we beg your mercy.

We must also confess that we often feel anger when somebody sins against us but often we are not so much concerned about the breaking of your commandments but about our own hardships. I am of slow learning of your ways.

There is a creature of your hands who has, or so I believe, gravely offended you by offending me. We thank you for you have made me able to bless him, to love him and to pray for him. We are sure we would be unable to do so but by your sanctifying grace.

Abba please bless his name, turn your face to him and grant him peace, send angels to keep his path, may wisdom enlighten him so that he can see the errors of his ways - if indeed twisted they are - and come to the narrow path that leads to heaven. Calm his pain, sweet his anger, ease his troubles, protect his family, baptize him in all that is good.

If he repents and turn to you, allow us and me the grace of receving him as a brother in Christ, taking no account of wrongs. If I have also failed him in some part bring me to conviction and repentance. Grant us peace and love that we may be the standard of your Kingdom

All of this we ask in the sweet name of your son Jesus Christ who taught us to pray: "Our Father who art in Heaven...

It would be an idea to include a 'prayers' or 'other' category

Although I do not believe in God or any institution, I agree with the principle behind this prayer.

I have a friend who's intention is to understand and forgive, she will always have a good thing to say about everybody and it sometimes sounds like an excuse. As with everything a balance needs to be sought. My friend is estranged in her marriage but stays living with him so he is not alone, how far do we go?? It is causing her so much pain!! They do not get along at all! I have never been able to figure that out because I do not agree with constantly hurting yourself, no matter what the situation.

This piece has really caused me to think, my friend does offer the balance I need in being to swift to judge if I have been burnt.

Thank you for sharing

Alex :-)
