With parting words and new forms of greeting,
A relation of sorts, though it has changed,
We see each other, memories fleeting,
The past and future distinctions arranged.
Figures of love that have withered and void,
To bring new forms, like a phoenix within,
Ashes of new built from pleasure destroyed,
We make amends, as we end and begin.
Could it be a friendship has been reclaimed?
Cupid navigates an eccentric track,
The arrow hits not where he first had aimed,
Though its effect had taken full attack.
To the war we call love; deem this a peace,
To save amity stale love is released.

Excellent! It sounds like divorce, or maybe a reunion?

Close. My ex-girlfriend, who's one of my best freinds, and I decided that our freindship was too strong for us to end after an unsuccessful relationship. I'm glad to say now that we're good freinds again.

A thing of beauty. I adore it.
