FREE OVERSHIP OF LUCIFER #14. THE DEVIL MADE US DO IT!

One of the brightest rising stars to spin out of the Sandman mythos gets his due this May when retailers receive a free 50% overship of LUCIFER #14, arriving in stores May 16. This quantity is based on initial orders only.

The overship follows the series being honored with five nominations for Eisner Awards. The nominations are for Best New Series, Best Single Issue (LUCIFER #4, "Born with the Dead," by Mike Carey, Warren Pleece and Dean Ormston,) Best Serialized Story (LUCIFER #5-7, "The House of Windowless Rooms," by Mike Carey, Peter Gross and Ryan Kelly), Best Writer (Mike Carey), and Best Cover Artist (Duncan Fegredo).

Vince Letterio, DC's Manager of Direct Sales, says, "The Eisner nominations and recent critical acclaim are making people take notice of LUCIFER, and this overship gives retailers the chance to get new readers to try a series they may have overlooked."

Issue #14, written by Mike Carey with art by Peter Gross and Ryan Kelly and a painted cover by Duncan Fegredo, is the second of three consecutive interlinked but freestanding stories. In it, Lucifer takes the irrevocable step from leader of the opposition to practicing deity, while Mazikeen faces trial by ordeal and the ultimate in sibling rivalry as she strives to remake her new face in its lost image.

Also available is the LUCIFER: DEVIL IN THE GATEWAY TP, which collects the miniseries THE SANDMAN PRESENTS: LUCIFER, by Mike Carey with painted art by Scott Hampton, as well as issues #1-4 of the monthly series.

NOT TO BE OVERLOOKED

Be sure you've got enough copies of the following hot projects - check your orders and process any increases before Wednesday, May 9.

LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES ARCHIVES VOL. 11 HC (228 pages, $49.95)

LEGION OF SUPER-HERO ARCHIVES Volume 11 features stories from SUPERBOY #203 -212, written by Cary Bates, E. Nelson Bridwell, and Jim Shooter. Also, stepping into the very large artistic shoes of his predecessor Dave Cockrum, new artist Mike Grell unveiled what would become his trademark brand of powerful graphic storytelling, giving the series a whole new excitement and vibrancy.

This dramatic new era of excitement for the Legion includes the tales "Massacre by Remote Control," "The Legionnaire Nobody Remembered," "Brainiac 5's Secret Weakness!," "The Legion of Super-Executioners," "Welcome Home, Daughter...Now Die!," "The Rookie Who Betrayed the Legion," "Lightning Lad's Day of Dread," "Vengeance of the Super-Villains," "The Legion of Substitute Heroes," and more!

HUNTER: THE AGE OF MAGIC #1 (32 pages, $2.50)
(Vertigo)

Meet the new Timothy Hunter. Older. Wiser. More powerful. But just because he's the most powerful mage the world has ever seen doesn't mean he has all the answers yet. This new ongoing series, by THE NAMES OF THE MAGIC team of writer Dylan Horrocks, artist Richard Case and cover painter John Bolton, takes Tim on all-new adventures that will probe the very nature of magic and the universe.

HUNTER picks up Tim's story three years after the end of THE NAMES OF MAGIC. Tim is now 17 going on 18, and one of the best students at the White School. HUNTER #1 opens in an unlikely locale: Gemworld, where Tim encounters Kalesh, a member of the Lakelanders, and faces war on Gemworld, magic over the Internet, and the continuing threat of the Lotus.

PROMETHEA BOOK TWO HC (176 pages, $24.95)
(America's Best Comics)

The second volume of the critically acclaimed, multiple award-winning series PROMETHEA is every bit as good if not better than the first volume - and we don't make that statement lightly!

PROMETHEA BOOK TWO, written by Alan Moore and illustrated by J.H. Williams III, Mick Gray, and José Villarrubia, with a cover pencilled by Williams and painted by Villarrubia, follows Sophie Bangs, the latest in a long line of Prometheas, on a winding journey of discovery as she continues to learn the secrets of the Immateria...and herself. Her transcendental adventure brings young Sophie to realms of magic and wonder that none have experienced before. Collecting PROMETHEA issues #7-12, BOOK TWO contains such fan-favorite stories as "Rocks and Hard Places," where Sophie learns about the Promethea named Bill, and "Sex, Stars, and Serpents."
