Bridge to Now

The thought of fear is worse
Than what must be its reality.
From initial tearing ache to the
Loose abandon of tears.

Comfort should be taken
Retrospect shows: infinite instance
Of that which cannot be controlled. Yet,
Living can. It is near.

Like a bridge, rising up
Creating a new place between what
Is remembered and hoped.
Non- certainties, the silty depths murmuring below
Crash unexpectedly.

The bridge bestows vantage,
And courage to experiencing
This fear, the pain of the then in now -
A reminder of things not cried for,
Now, fear that is free to form itself
Will change from ache to tears.

Insightful, Kss. I like the last stanza most. I hope you'll keep on posting your poetry...

Thanks.
