Words sting like a furious bee
who's hive has just been brutally disturbed.

You may be angry
but your choice of words
are malicious and absurd.

A mothers love in unlike any other
unconditional, understanding, and pure.
At least that's what I thought.
Your "love" only makes me feel unsure.

How could you call me immoral?
Why tell me I'm nothing but a disgrace?
I share with you my hopes and dreams
only for you to laugh in my face.

I'm so exhilarated with where I am today.
To you everything is appalling,
nothing is ever ok.

You continue to speak down to me.
In your eyes I will always be a child.
Just a disappointment.
When was the last time you looked at me
and simply smiled?

Who do you want me to be?
You tear me apart with your hurtful words.
I'm happy with who I am.
When will you open your eyes and see.

See me for who I am
and the wonderful women I have grown to be.

Well I'm proud of who I am
and I hate knowing
we will always disagree.

mothers
sometimes mothers have a hard time telling us how much they love us. I can relate to some of this...so much!!! Keep it up, and thank you for sharing this.

Disgrace
This hits the nail on the head. Everytime I go home for a visit with my husband and kids, I feel twelve again. It seems that we are forever identified with something from childhood. Imprinted! I think this needed to be expressed. Thanks!
