From a widow's perspective.

Under the dogwood I sit and think of you
In the soft light of the morning sun.
Youíre gone now, itís sad to say.
I miss you on lonely days
When time stands still and I blink
To wash away the haze of memory.

You left me with a son to raise,
You bastard, didnít you stop to think?
When you pulled that trigger to stop the pain
Was it me you were shooting at?
For at that moment I entered Hell.

Years have passed and time has healed
The wounded soul.
Only sorrow and regret are left behind
To walk with me beneath the sun
My tears are all but washed away.

My life has made a different turn
From the chaos we called fun.
A soul has come to comfort me
Gentle warm safe and sure
Iím in love again.

Farewell to you my troubled one
Rest your weary soul a spell
Perhaps weíll meet again someday.
I miss you,

"See the man with the lonely eyes, oh, take his hand, you'll be surprised." Supertramp.
