a breakthrough in human bioenergy has enabled scientists to obtain accurate readings of energy use in human thought patterns. the ability to calculate the energy that a human directly consumes has been possible for decades (not including of course the indirect consumption of noise heat, noise, etc through electricity, motor vehicles) and until now, the use of energy anatomically has been estimated only for physical activity. but with this latest development, the electrical power developed in brain waves has actually been accurately measured enabling the research to answer an intriguing question; how much energy does it cost you to think.

"the possibilities for this kind of technology are endless," said dr x. "we can obtain precise readings of the energy used in a thought process. in conjunction with statistical methods, we can estimate the average energy consumption of any human in say, a year... or a lifetime!" he exclaims. this opens the debate how much energy we are wasting through unnecessary thinking. doctor y, a sociologist at z comments "well in our democratic society where we have so much choice, the enormous process of everyday decision making must take its toll energy-wise. if this is the effect, perhaps the choice we are given is too great"

doctor x continues "or course, the next step is allowing everybody to undergo this kind of testing so we can obtain an accurate reading of their thought efficiency." he hopes to use this analysis to produce detailed reports describing each individuals net worth to society and determine which of us arent undergoing the "right" thoughts.
