We want to stay We want to go
And never know the right
We love to be we hate to not
And go down with a fight

But down is up and up is down
And some days it gets old
But break the chains and tie the knot
And tame the heart and soul

All this matters not one ounce
When all ends for the best
So read the verse that follows this
And know what I request

Say it high and shout it low
And tell for all to hear
The love we have the hate we share
Will last throughout the years

Love Hate
Tim,

Nice bit of poetry, gets the old brain cells working! I love the 'beat' of it and it carries you to the conclusion:

'The love we have the hate we share
Will last throughout the years'

Fortunately or unfortunally true, throughout the years and beyond through the veil. I just hope some of us have the sense to ditch the hate.

Keep up the good work,

Ivor

Simplistic and complex
I concur with Ivor that this poem has a lovely beat to it. It certainly twisted in my brain and I had to read it a couple of times before I could straighten it out. This of course is due to the beautiful way in which you wrote it, simplistic and complex.

Knot Withstanding
You can tie your Heart
to the kite of your Soul...
but some say better knot
