dirt road
spider on the bull-bar
rough ride.

Not the poem which we have read, but that to which we return, with the greatest pleasure, possesses the power and claims the name of essential poetry.

I, too, have enjoyed reading Mr. Havens...

Road trip haiku-- hmmmmmmmmn, interesting.

This made me smile, then it made me laugh.

Serenem & bob.
I'm glad you both liked it, a chuckle and a laugh. I love that. I've had a spider clinging to the out side of my car. Like it is riding some huge mechanical bull. Yeeehaaa!. regards huni.

not the usual
I love condensing a thought, an image into seventeen syllables. Nicely done, but my favorite bit is the title. The implications of "because he makes me laugh seriously" with no comma anywhere are staggering.

cybele re Andy
Andy challenged us to give him Haiku on the subject 'road trip', so the idea rattled around in my head for a day or so and this fell out. I had just read two articles (blogs?) by him that had really made me laugh. He's pretty smart and had me a bit scared of him to begin with. Those two pieces blew that scary image out of the water. (You can get me with humour every-time.) At the same time, I agree with him, that we need to take our poetry seriously, but NOT ourselves. So - the dedication. And thank you for picking up the intentional, missing comma. I wasn't sure if anyone would get that. One day I might change it to spider. Thanks for commenting and making yourself know to me. I'll check you out.
regards huni. PS I have a new road trip Haiku. I'll put it on today.
