A greater friend there never was
-my mighty Rin Tin Tin.
He loved to hear me call his name
and say I'd go with him.

He never, ever let me down,
though he could make me mad
with little "gifts" he'd leave for me
when I had made him sad.

Still and always owns my heart
-my brave boy Rin Tin Tin.
Defender, guardian, playful sort.
No stronger soul has been.

I still can see him in my mind,
bandana 'round his neck.
Had dark and such expressive eyes.
He carried a full deck.

Lucky I was to know him
- my sweet boy Rin Tin Tin.
Lucky I was to share his life;
lucky, his heart to win.

It's been years since I lost him.
I miss him to this day.
Still see him, frisbee in his mouth,
asking me to play

-my loyal Rin Tin Tin.

Would like the last line to read "Still see him, frisbee in his mouth, asking me to play" but when I edit, I seem to get lost for a day or so, so I'll leave it as is for now. Thank you all for being so helpful and embracing! This has become my favorite place to be! -e.

"To Beau: with love"
A tearful piece for me, as I too had a friend such as this and after 45 years it still hurts when something like this comes along and conjures up those feelings. Great piece gave it a 10... R.I.P. Mike

Rin TinTin -Charmr thanks
To your Mike, my Beau, and all those great canine buddies who have earned a corner of our hearts.
I appreciate your understanding this one. Great love never dies, just teaches us how to love better...My "dolly" deserves a poem too... a work in progress... I am tickled by your 10 as I admire your work and am so pleased that I was able to move you with mine... -e.

I can't even fathom the day I would lose my best friend, who incidentally is named Jade. I borrow her name here. Beautiful tribute.
