I know myself too well
and sometimes I see
Myself
in the passing shadows
Myself
In the spotlight
Breaking through,
Shining through
Screaming through
The knowledge
I should have never
had.

The world's speeding up
And I know where my highway leads

I know the things that lie,
I know the things that crawl inside
And sometimes I wish
My eyes were dead,
And sometimes, the sky turns red
And I know
I'm there,
Beware,
I'll never be
Blind again,
Alive again
Behind the wall,
There is no such thing
As prophets....

Stop!!!

This piece is so haunting, and I feel guiltily that I'm missing something. Could you offer an explanation? As I'm reading, I feel like it's just beyond my grasp...
