I believe in love, in hope, in family and in dreams.
Can't say I like churches, pastors, or priests.
Have a distaste for organized religion, rules and the make.
Have been brainwashed, and enlightened.
Been lied to and forgotten.
Dealt with those who believe in man's laws.
Have carried my share of guilt and shame.
Have questioned purpose and fate.
I've seen critical eyes, and tasted judgmental spirits.
As time goes by instead of being convinced, I'm confused.
Believe it's all about God and not man.
No shortcuts just you and Him.
Believe it's about relationships not laws.
Read my bible.
Taught Sunday School.
Been or studied with Catholics, Jehovah Witnesses, Baptists, etc.
Have prayed, have worshiped, have done these things and more.
Have questioned.
Have answered.
Have worried, and found peace.
I have knocked and been answered.
I've doubted and been faithful.
I've believed in giving up who I am, then reclaimed myself.
I've believed in turning the other cheek.
I've believed in being humble and by all means being meek.
I believe in being nice to strangers as you never know when you may be entertaining an angel.
Through all this I have concluded, there is one thing I do know. I believe in God's unconditional love. I know He loves like no other. Of that there is never a doubt, nor a second thought, of that I am sure. Of all else, I question.

I am on a journey. Looking for Me. Everyday I get a little closer. The more time goes by the more I realize I'm always changing. This journey could take forever... Renae L. Soler

You have a 'Beautiful Soul'
Thanks for posting this...As I was blessed to read what you said about 'Its all about GOD and not man, it stirred up the gift in me..

You know, I'm always questioning man ways, but never GOD Ways...thanks again for this, it was a great read...trying to catch up on a lot of work here at lit, I've been so busy lately.

This is one of the better pieces I've seen at Lit. that deals with a spiritual subject. You handle the subject with a deft touch that all persons, regardless of creed can relate to without painting a target for the dissidents who like to "religion bash". I must admit I find myself wishing more of the spiritual writers we have could share their faith with a similar light touch.

As far the validity of questioning God's ways, I believe it part of our God given nature to question all things. the Bible encourages us to meditate on what we are taught and to learn for ourselves what is true and just. You must search for truth, it is not simply handed to most of us. One cannot begin any real quest for truth without first asking questions.

All of that philosophizing aside, this is a good piece and I'm glad that I stayed long enough to read it. Thanks for reminding me that there is still good work to be found in this most challenging of topics.

Jeannie, to you and your very sweet spirit, I say Thank you. You are always a blessing.

To Bart, I am humbled by your comments. Thank you. This has been going in circles in my mind and just thought I would throw it out there. I appreciate you taking the time to read it and for commenting.

Very good!

Exactly. Opt for being alive. It's the only real choice we get, but I'm grateful for it.

Well put, too; thanks.

Wonderful Nae
This entire piece is a gift but I especially like this: I believe in being nice to strangers as you never know when you may be entertaining an angel. You just never know, do you? Thanks.

Life in Beautiful Circles
NAE411:- Great post!

As to your craft of wording, you have managed to epitomize the normalcy of the human condition most eloquently, if not melodically, in my view.

As to your experiences, trial and error is how the human's earth-suit adapts our spirits to this phase of life. We only get one chance to do this Life right, so never give up the search!

I deplor the assertion of reincarnation (at least to the human spirit returning to mortality! I wrote a biblical thesis on this subject in my book LAWS OF DELIVERANCE, FROM PROVERBS) because it holds forth the lie of false hope, and a lot of people go to Hell because of it. I know that your searching will bring you into contact many times with real "truth."

I also searched in many circles, always witnessing inwardly that I was not going in the right direction... until, on my deathbed with cancer in 1979, I cried out to "god" to tell me before I died what "truth" was: and Jesus, Himself, visited me that night!

The greatest thing about that experience was that I knew I already knew Him! I just hadn't reached out and taken His hand... yet! I did that night, and He has taken me far beyond my and my physician's expectations in this life!

Now, I KNOW I'm finally going in the right direction. You might like to read some of those little lesson's I've learned on the way here (BESIDES THE ONES POSTED HERE)." Here's one of my links if you want to look:

pierce the soul
I too have found that I am on a journey through life but I have battled with my faith every day. I know that God loves me but I question so much, maybe too much. What you have written pierces my soul with the truth of it yet it also makes me realize there is hope. Thank you.

I Believe
I feel shame, Nae. After having always claimed I am your fan, I will just be late on this one! This so great and I am glad I reviewed each one of your posts. You are a woman with a lively soul, and a lovely spirit...

'I believe in love, in hope, in family and in dreams.'
Love... The meaning of life, possibly the only important thing.

Hope... Better than optimism, this is reality and prepares you for good and bad, keeping you positive.

Family... Biological and spiitual(including friends) - the family of mankind.

Dreams... lets the spirit soar!
'As time goes by instead of being convinced, I'm confused.'
No confusion in your opening line Nae, your beliefs appear to be what we all aspire to.

Keep topping up the melting pot, one of my favorite meals is stew!

God is the centre of it all, but have you tried a dash of Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism. etc.
Not recommending any, just helps to flavour the stew.

Good piece Nae, gives us a part of yourself we wish we had,

Thank you

I Believe/Thank you
Thank you all for commenting, seems alot of us have the same kinds of feelings. Wonderful to know we are not alone.

Nauticus66- I hear you. I have been on this journey to for a long time, Through it all God has been there. I can doubt religions, man's way, but never God. He is so real in my life. Thank you for commenting.

Ivor- You have such insight. What I think I love most about you is the way you read. I think you read in between the lines, see things that others may skimp over, this is apparent in the way you write as well.

I read about anything I can get my hands on. I love to know what others think, what they believe and why. I wish so much we had a chat room for us lit addicts (we are a circle of friends I believe). Would love to share ideas with you all.

Thank you so much for reading my craziness and above all for commenting. I am inspired by each and every word. God's Blessings, always.
