FanFiction.net, What's the appeal? First off, I think it has deep roots in the fact that people love on going stories. People tend to fall in love with their favorite t.v. show characters, or even movie characters. People just don't wan't to see their shows stop. But they eventually all do.

Even the one's that don't have a huge fan base of people who want to tell the tales that don't get told. After all traditional media has the limitation of development time, production time, distrobution time etc. The internet doesn't have these barriers and allows creative writers to script new episodes in their characters lives and publish them quickly and easily. And the tool that helps them the most is FanFiction.net

FanFiction.net offers Fan Fiction authors an easy tool with which to produce and deliver their latest stories to the masses quickly, neatly and to mass numbers. With near instant feedback, authors have the reward the want the most. Input on the work they've done. Cummunication is one of FanFiction.net's best assets.

With a huge user and author base, FanFiction.net is buzzing with people submitting new works and talking about them on the FanFiction.net Forums, which were also programmed by FanFiction.net's creator, Xing Li. The forums provide a way to talk about new projects, recruit beta readers and even colaborate on join projects. The forums are easy and simple to use. And in this media rich day and age, it's hard to find a site that's useful, and actually works. FanFiction.net does both.

The user interface is simple and eye pleasing. Offering just enough color to brighten the place up a bit without distracting from the massive ammounts of content, which comes in the form of the FanFiction Directory. As with many high volume sights, there are a couple of banner adds here and there. But unlike so many, they are neatly tucked away in a manner that they do no disturb the flow of content, nor do they distract from the asthetic element.

Probably the most impressive feature at FanFiction.net is it's staff and uers. A very involved group of people. Fan Fiction writers by nature tend to be more involved people. And with a central haven like FanFiction.net, they've really turned that need to participate into a truely great web resource. The staff writers deliver columns on a regular basis as well as help with over all chores around FanFiction.net like keeping the forums clear of riff raff and helping establish new and useful features.

FanFiction.net has survived the demise of many would be fan fiction sites. Most of which had a great go of it but either time or resources got in the way. Leaving one shining beacon in the ether for Fan Fiction fans. Like moth's to a flame, they have embrased FanFiction.net for what looks like the duration. I highly recommend a visit to FanFiction.net. The staff is great and the users are extremely supportive.

Fan Fiction.net has been online for quite some time now dishing out everyone's fix for their favorite show, book, movie or even rock band! FF brings it to you quick and easy. The site is well designed. Simple, professional and easy to navigate. Despite his Mac propaganda, its a top notch site! (j/k) I'm not a huge fan of fan fiction ( sorry, had to say it ) myself, but this site has an average of 300 users online at any given time! FF has the largest archive of Fan Fiction on the web, no doubt about it. The site is free, easy to use and really interactive.

FF.net's back end allows for Authors, Readers and Columnists to login and customize their own preferences. You can subscribe to types of stories or particular genre's. Columnists can post and archive their own columns and Authors can control their works online. A fantastic feature indeed. This site has all the makings of a professional writing site and has the power to realize it. With these kinds of stats, I'm sure he could get advertising money!

Fanfiction.net is a great site. It is organized wonderfully! Its index, cross indexed and fully searchable. You will have no trouble moving around this site and finding exactly what you need to satisfy your reading needs. Like most of the sites I pick, it has a huge fan base and they are very supportive. The site is entirely free and very friendly. You should visit the site daily and give them your support. Tell them Crowe sent ya!

oh-- TOO TRUE!!!!
too bad it can't be rated at about 15! i know-- i must seem like i'm high on something-- and i am! i'm high from the praise my favorite site on the entire Internet is recieving! I thought you really had to be part of the FF.N community to understand what it's like, but you did it perfectly (i'm going to have to remember to look for you in with an author search) and i really think you made it so that others could understand great job-- great article, and i bet if i say "great" one more time i'll be commited! oh well-- Great job.. or "pretty good" I should say (since that's the highest compliment i get at home-- it is the SUPREME compliment). I'd love to praise you more but i've got to get back to class and my fic writings... and exploring this site. :

Hey
I have fanfiction at fanfiction.net, same username I use here. The only bad thing about the site is that it's down a lot. Maybe not much anymore, I haven't been to it in awhile. Good review.
