Woman I hate you for what you've let them do,
skipping through fields in Tampax comercials
white teeth, no panty line, and those half-circle
shows saying "Girl!" Woman I can't breathe in
your smells to hide smells and your stockings to
hide swells and I hate "Princess" on shirts, shorts,
and keychains. I hate that your shoes have buckles
that match your purse that match your coat that
offset an endless cycle of matching that renders you
practically invisible. I hate that you've "reclaimed"
pink and that you go through money like baskets of bread
at a restaurant. I hate that your "causes" have
matching accessories: silver bracelet for AIDS,
scarves for heart disease, silver pin for leukemia.
Woman sometimes I think this world has swallowed you whole.
