Okay --

We've been having some fun with monthly threads on given subjects. I'd like to suggest something a little different for June. Every poem has to use some rhyme or play with idea of rhyming with "June," but must avoid cliché rhymes at all costs. Are you game? Wait till June 1 to reply... regards Mike

Junacy & Rhyme Withdrawal

I could compare this to a summers chore,
a sun that hammers down like Gods left fist,
so many rhymes forbidden, what a bore,
oh, how I long for Lunas silver mist.
Soon after solstice, when the sun will list
towards the shorter days we`ll meet again
and Sonnet Central is the place to tryst
-come thunder, lightning, rain or heat - till then.
I use my keyboard, not my peacock pen
to write thematic poetry devoid
of s & m words*, cackle like a hen,
a candidate for therapy from Freud.

I`ll bark like any purple-assed baboon,
thanks to a rare breed, texan red-neck `coon.
