And on this road we wander.
not knowing what to say.
For fear of things left unsaid.
and dreary lonesome days.

the price of this confusion.
is to live in an odd land.
of maybe, should, and would of.
not will and done and can.

We look so sad at others ways.
not knowing what to do.
the path we take is but our soul.
for us to wander through.

And so we wander on this way.
In our darkened plight.
for fear of things we might not do.
and ways in wich we might.....

but paths are meant to wander.
and many is the time.
you'll walk from yours to others.
or maybe even mine.

for as the road does wander.
and others twist and turn.
we walk on many paths, friends.
as all will someday learn.

but to the path that calls you.
and the one you may be on.
and others you may walk a while.
under the moon or sun.

if never you do notice then.
that all are not just one.
but like a web are everywhere.
and never ever done.

and maybe you will wonder, when
to walk the one you choose.
and tell it to the others then,
we gain but hardly lose.

Bloody fantastic!
This is by far one of your best, Wally -- and that's saying something. You have a remarkable facility for wordplay and for turning a beautiful phrase. I simply don't have the vocabulary to express my admiration for this piece.

Choosing paths...
First of all I like the structure and formalsim! It allows the tempo to move and build. When I got down to this line "if never you do notice then / that all are not just one" I was thinking, ok, here we go - choices are important! In Goethe's words "choose wisely, your choice is brief and yet endless." And so, I thought that's were it was going to end... choose your path wisely! However, it cloese with "walk...the one you choose / we gain but hardly lose." So, it suprised me a bit. A stronger ending might be better, one regarding the far-reaching consequences of our choices?
