Hang on to Me

Falling into me he cried.
I clung and said,
“Hang on to me,
Just hang on.”

“I love my brother so much,” I thought.

He sat and played a cleansing song,
Fingers perfect in precision,
Timing impeccable as he picked the strings,

“Such amazing finesse,” I thought.

He had penned words of a waterfall,
One that washes away his pain.
He sang a sweet refrain as only he can.

“So gifted,” I whispered.

We exchanged thoughts.
We laughed,
We remembered,
We joked.

He walked away,
I love you I called waving.
He is better now.
I gave him some more of my soul.

After he left, my heart followed.

Wonderful
It is wonderful when siblings get along as you and your brother do...
I do with two of mine but not the other one...
Of my 5 children there are aliances and friendships between them but not all inclusive...
I wonder sometimes why?
The grandchildren too are making aliances and it is very eye opening to see the mechanics of sibling rivalry and friendships...

Hang on to me
Beverly, I instantly connected. I have only one brother and would take a bullet for him if he needed me too. This poem brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing, this is lovely.

Hang on to me
I was not lucky enough to grow up with my bio brothers, this would have been a nice love to know and grown with. Thanks for sharing this well written piece Bev.
