A gentle snow is drifting down
Soft as I've ever seen.
The kind that God could use to hide
Things that should never have been.
Why can't God just cover up
Those things that it hurts to see?
Take away the awful ache,
And give you back to me.

The snow just keeps on falling,
Down from a soft grey sky,
The snow falls on the granite stone
And the man who is standing by.
I am so afraid to leave you here.
When I do, my heart will know
That all I love is lying
Alone beneath the snow.
