The “Psycho-Galvic Response” (PGR) within the human body is like the “Fight or Flight Response” (FFR) in many ways. Most of us are familiar with the FFR.

FFR is a well-known escape mechanism that makes animals flee, or prepare to fight, at the first sign of danger.

One of the components of the FFR is the involuntary eliminating of all waste from the body to keep the body from being sluggish or having impaired mobility. Other components include the fact that blood vessels of the muscles dilate to exhilarate their blood flow for use in running or fighting, and the blood vessels of the intestines constrict to concentrate the blood flow elsewhere. Adrenaline floods the body, causing muscle bundling and tightening to ward off potential blows and/or bites by an enemy. Electro-static currents flush the skin and charge through the brain to heighten awareness and reactions.

This Psycho-Galvic Response is the underlying set of measuring devices for the “Lie Detector” machine.

This Fight or Flight Reaction is only supposed to last minutes. It was never intended to last for hours. If it continues over an extended period, it can lead to sleep disturbances, stress related illnesses and even death as tissues are destroyed by sustained chemical imbalances.

Both PGR and FFR are immediate, automatic and uncontrollable. We can not alter them, intentionally, so much as we can consciously control our heartbeat! But that is where the similarities end.

The PGR, in short, reacts to spoken lies in particular and fears in general. As soon as we speak out an untruth, regardless of our motives for speaking it, the PGR processes begin.

It races our heart, pumps excessive adrenaline into our bloodstream, looses caustic enzymes into our systems, stops some hormone production and surges others, spikes our skin temperature, squeezes our sweat glands, and instantly parches all our mucosal linings from the sinuses, eyes, mouth and esophagus to the stomach and reproductive organs.

In the end, the results are the same for lies and fear: cancer, hardened arteries, strokes (internal bruises that sometimes cause fatal or debilitating cerebral hemorrhage), heart attacks and a host of other devastating ills from reflux to irritable bowel syndrome.

Many environmental things hasten the onset of disease in the human body, including various herbs with phyto-estrogenic qualities. Though mind/body connections are only now being studied scientifically, this connection is clearly established in Judeao/Christian scriptures.

That’s the down side of PGR. In the absence of fear [which includes worrying] and lies, our bodies are not affected by it.

There, at the born-again junction – enters a complication in the PGR process. What ordinary (unregenerated) humans consider truth and their heart considers fact is not usually so to the born again human spirit! This contradiction affects the PGR in us.

When we, as Christians, refuse to trust in and rely upon the authoritative Word of God, our confessions, when thay are rebellious words according to the Bible, are treated as lies by our bodies!

For instance, it is written in Second Peter 2:24, “By His stripes you were healed.”
That speaks of Jesus’ hard-won atonement provision for our health and well-being. All Jesus’ atonement provisions are higher laws than earth’s natural laws.

When we are born-again, we get the opportunity to experience the authority and power of heaven right here on earth, because our citizenship has been translated from one Kingdom (earth) to another (heaven). We have been moved, “lock, stock and barrel” in Christ. Our species “kind” designation has changed. We are no longer simply ‘human’ but have been hybridized by the Spirit of God to a higher type of spirit than an ordinary human spirit: hence, our "born again" status.

This change alters our nature and should alter our responses. Our new instinct is to follow God as Jesus did: by studying to show ourselves approved unto Him. Our new spirit is, therefore, more authoritative, whether we know it or not.

So, when a born-again spirit says, “I am sick,” it lies against the truth of God’s Word, which says, "You are healed!" It is still acting and speaking like a normal human spirit! But truly, it lies in the face of God, Who says something quite different!

Automatically and imperceptibly, the PGR exacts its penalty within us according to the Instructions of the Word of God: "My (God's) people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."

Little by little, one error at a time, we destroy, through our own ignorance of the Word of God, the gift of Life God gave to us. It exudes its essence and has it's being in our mortal bodies. With our bodies health… goes our peace, our prosperity, our time, our joy, our money. You can put a medical dollar sign with each "lie" this PGR identifies.

No enemy is needed. No clandestine political agenda of evil spiritual forces is at work in us. We do it to ourselves by failing, or refusing, to believe the instructions that God has given us in His Holy Word for living a full, wonderful life on this planet.

Wisdom, the acquiring of the knowledge of the Word of God, and assimilating it for use within us is the KEY TO LIFE ETERNAL. It is learning how to use the Word of God that gives us the power to prolong our lives and keep ourselves healthy. Therefore, wisdom is the principle thing God tells us to get.

Finally, we are given this thought by God through the Apostle, John the beloved: 3 John 2 says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as they soul propereth.”

No wonder it is written in the book of the laws of God, "Thou shalt not lie!"

Amen! Amen!

This text is formed from these biblical principles:

1) “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” [Hosea 4:6 ]

2) “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways…” [Isaiah 55:9]

3) “Those that come to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” [Heb. 11:6]

4) “Out of the abundance of the heart (Spirit) the mouth speaks.” [Mt. 12:34, Lu. 6:45.]

5) “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” [Exodus 20:16]

6) “Fear not.” [Is. 41:10, 43:1, 5. 54:4. Mt 10:28. Lu 12:32. Rev. 2:10.]

7) “God has not given us a Spirit of Fear…” [2 Ti. 1:7.]

8) “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear; because fear hath torments…” [1 Jn 4:18

9) [Numbers 5] The whole chapter. Note the use of “bitter herbs” that regulate pregnancy [phyto-estrogenic herbs] and detect adulteresses. (This isi a whole other study.)

10) [Jesus speaking] “Verily I say unto you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you…” [Mat. 17:20]

11) “The words that I (Jesus) speak to you they are Spirit and they are Life.” [Jn. 6:62 ]

12) “Thy Word is truth…” [Ps.119:43, 2 Co. 6:7, Ep. 1:13, Col. 1:5, Ja. 1:18; Mal 2:6. ! Jn. 5:6. Eph. 5:9.]

13) The things that agree on earth… [2 Jn. 5:8]

14) “I am the Life, the Truth and the wWay…” [Jn. 16:6]

15) “Be sure your sins will find you out.” [Nu. 32:23]

16) “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall perish.” [Pr. 19:9 ]

17) “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” {Pr. 18:21

18) “Wisdom is the principal thing: therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting, get understanding.” [Pr. 4:7] “Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that getting understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand, riches and honor.” [Pr. 3:13-16]

19) “…Who hath delivered us (born again believers) from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins;” [Colossians 1:13-14]

I thought this was well thought out. I do enjoy reading Christian work that shows some basis in fact. You are a credit to your religion. On the side, it is peculiar how we try so hard to separate religion from science, a thing that never occurred until fairly recent times. I think we will eventually merge the two together again. Religion is not entirely superstition, nor is science entirely fact, so they could blend easily enough without doing much damage.

Response to mister E
I think you're absolutely right. Nothing we know is "unexplainable." It just depends upon how hard we look, and where we look, for the answers. And even then, our answers depend upon what we are willing to accept as "answers."

I find it immensely intriguing that every scientific person, to some degree or another, uses a numbering system, and yet, there is not one person who has ever "touched" a number, or seen one! We all learn numbering systems, and use them by faith, and rely upon them, unwaveringly. Why can't we touch it? Because it is spiritual. So, if scientists want everything to proven, let them prove that there are such things as "numbers." When they prove that about a system they use, they can talk to me about the existence of “God” who creates my systems!

I have done similar studies on DNA and Psychosymatic illnesses. Though I expect answers, I'm still always surprised what the Bible really has to say about a lot of facts we now take for granted!

back?
You've confused the use of abstractions with faith. I suggest you return to your studies (and use reliable sources)!

Viper9: Not abstractions: none attractions...
Wrong, Viper9. Abstractions are things without identifiable boundries. Faith is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." My source is absolute, as far as I'm concerned: i.e. The Manufacturer's Handbook. Can't get more reliable than that.

Abstraction and faith don't mix, like oil and water... unless one adds in a binding solution to bridge their gap (which, in me, is the Holy Spirit, indwelling). With Him in me, ALL THINGS work together for good. I possess an understanding ingredient you obviously don't posses, so you will be stuck with limited parameters, where you are unless, and until, you decide to emulsify yourself with the one and only binding agent available on earth. He is wisdom and knowledge. And He knows all parameters though I'm still working on it.

Well . . .
. . . I won't deal with the blithering nonsense of the second paragraph. C'est la vie, if it makes you happy.

Regarding the first, however, you're completely off base regarding both abstraction and faith. Abstraction has little to do with "identifiable boundaries" at all. An abstraction is a conecpt that is extracted from commonalities between concrete instances. The abstraction "tree" is extracted from a variety of particular trees. The content of the concept is what those particular instances share. The same principle applies to emotional abstractions (love, hate, etc.) that are extracted from behaviours and experiences thought to have something in common, and to numbers.

There is no "three" that you can touch, just as there is no "love" that you can touch. "Three" is an abstract concept that ties together various instances: three apples, three hairs, three integers (a bunch of abstractions there!). To claim that there is anything here approximating the concept of "faith" (itself an abstraction) in any meaningful way is to completely misunderstand the concept and rob "faith" of the meaning that makes it special and worthwhile to those who value it.

So, yes, you can get more reliable sources than "The Manufacturer's Handbook" -- or, at least, more reliable interpreters -- and I suggest you seek them out. That way, you might think twice before self-righteously proclaiming yourself to possess an "understanding ingredient" that others lack. Others are far more likely to believe you when it's clear that you truly do understand what you're talking about.

Love and kisses to all,

Viper9

Response to Viper9 re Abstractions
You and I are dancing to the same tune on different planets. I'm talking of one thing, you another. Nuf said. I quit.
