FanFiction!

Big Fan Fiction Fan? Man, thats a tongue twiser. Fan Fiction is a very fascinating form of writing. It tends to bring together some of the strangest creations I've seen in the Electronic Lit world!

Not all Fan Fiction is good. But when you just can't get enough of your favorite TV Show, Movie or Comic books, Fan Fiction makes no bones about taking up the slack.

Fan Fiction can be a taudry world. Unlike the series in which they are moddled after, many writers feel that the Fan Fiction should contain sexual content or romance. Its common for Fans of a show to want the stars to get together. Give that desire to a Fan Fiction writer, and you've got a love story between Mulder and Scully.

However, the Fan Fiction market isn't dominited with the lovey stuff. You can get some Great stories of every kind out there. You can literally get lost in a world of Fan Written Fiction.

Fan Fiction is often scoffed at by people who consider themselves "Real Writers". I have to point out that notion as obsurd. All writers write Fan Fiction one time or another. Even if you get paid to write for X-Files, or X-Men, your still
writing someone elses characters. Fan Fiction is so called because you do not get paid to do it.

At any rate, here are a few of my favorite Fan Fiction links to introduce you to the world of Fan Fiction.

FanFiction.net - The Biggest online FF Archive around! Cool rticles/Columns too!

be careful ...
Ficworld.com is a router name that sends you direct to porn sites ... you know, those kind that no matter how many windows you close more pop up? Definately *not* fanfic related! *L*

Whoah.
I removed that link from the article. I wrote that along time ago for another site and at that time it was a fanfic site. No doubt whoever ran it gave way to the pressure of making a buck from running a site.

Thanks for the info! And keep posting!

YES!!!!!
Yes! i love this! i'm a fanfiction writer on Fanfiction.net (ff.n as a lot of us call it) and it is an awesome place to post on! i love how you can get reviews and it's a great place to meet people with similiar interests (can you tell i enjoy the site?) but you can also post original fiction and keep the rites to the stories. With the fanfictions, though, it's tradition, if not safer, to write dislclaimers (which can be as humuorous as the stories sometimese!)... and i'm rambling... i was hopingto post some of my original fictions up on this site, but i thin ki may have screwed up and done something wrong... Oh! on last thing about ff.n-- that's where i found out about lit.org! :

FANFICTION!!!!
I TOTALLY agree, I was directed this way by Axisor, I also am an author at Fanfiction.net it is indeed a fantastic site!! I have made some incredible friends around the globe through this site. It is a wonderfull way to get feedback on stories that you can't normally get at other sites hosting fanficiton. The site holds a huge variety of authors ages ranging from pre teen to over forty. A truly spectacular site. Fanfiction is also a great way for people who like to write but have not had enough time or experience to come up with an original, though FF.net hosts some Original works as well. Fanfiction is a great way to begin a writing career, and I think it would be flattering to have written a story and then have people write fanfiction based off it.

FanFiction.net
Did you guys read my review of FanFiction.net? You should check it out in the reviews section.

I really enjoy the site as well, and Xing is a great guy! And ff.net has a great user community. I'm glad some of you are stopping by and checking out lit.org! Please keep coming back and telling your friends.

I'm also open to suggestions about anything you'd like to see here. It is after all a haven for all of us writer types!

In all fairness...
...as far as I know, the people who ran FicWorld didn't turn it into a porn site -- they left the fanfic "sphere" and their domain was bought up by somebody despicable when their reservation on the name ran out. :/ Thanks for the link to CFAN!

True, true.
Kielle, I think your right. It was down forever with like a link that said visit another site or something. Unfortunatly the porn industry is buying up every good domain name out there and really scumming up the net.

I like my share of porn mind you, but there should be standards. I think maybe they should be forced to use the extenstion .adult or .xxx .. It's not right to let people "stumble" upon something like that. .. Just my opinion!
